Your Experience

Joe Kirkland sent us this note when he learned about the film:

First of all, thank you for this effort, your time, and your remembrance. I thought no one would do what you are going to do, but thank God, you are. Every time I return back home for a visit it seemed to me no one remembers that day anymore, the lives impacted, lives interrupted, the lives lost. My story is very exstensive. See, I was there, at only 300 feet away, and the only reason I'm here today is because of a cup of coffee. Alive, yes, but with loss. Not an arm or leg or even my sight, something even worse... my family. That day I lost 3, sometimes it feels like 4. My mother Virginia Kirkland, and sisters Robin & Kelly, rest in peace, I miss you, I love you always. My memory of that day is detailed and burnt in my mind, and if you would like to hear it, I'm here, contact me anytime. Thanks again for doing this film, I thought everybody forgot except me.

We did contact Joe, and he came to Richmond for filming in April. His story will be part of the film, 1:47.
